    Botswana Overland Adventure

    Day 1Johannesburg, South Africa

    Upon arrival in Johannesburg, you will be met at the airport and transferred to the Protea Waterfront Hotel, Centurion (or similar) for your overnight stay.

    Day 2Kalahari Desert

    An early departure from your hotel in Johannesburg will take you in the direction of the Botswana border. Your bush-camp will be installed in the Kalahari Desert, where the evening is spent admiring the bright stars of the southern hemisphere around the campfire.

    Day 3Kalahari (Bushmen Village)

    Arriving in Ghanzi for lunch, you will set up camp at Dqae Qare Bushman village in the Kalahari. The project is owned and run by the local Bushman community, with all proceeds directly benefiting the community. The afternoon is spent observing the traditional Bushman way of life.

    Day 4Maun

    In the morning you will have a 1-hour-long guided bush walk, with a local guide, who will explain and show you the many uses of the surrounding environment. Drive to Maun, the “gateway” to the Okavango Delta. The evening will be spent relaxing around the campfire and preparing for your 4x4 excursion into Moremi the following morning.

    Day 5 - 6Okavango Delta area of Moremi Wildlife R

    Explore Moremi Wildlife Reserve on early morning and late afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, and spend the day exploring the channels of the Okavango Delta by mokoro. You will have lunch on an island in the delta and enjoy a game walk (subject to the water level of the delta).

    Day 7 - 8Khwai area of Moremi Wildlife Reserve

    The Khwai area is a pure wilderness area of great beauty, with rich green vegetation and palm trees, teeming with bird-life and a vast population of wild animals. You will enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives exploring the reserve in an open 4x4 safari vehicle.

    Day 9Moremi/Maun/Planet Baobab

    Enjoy a final early morning game drive as you leave Moremi, returning to Maun in time for lunch.  After lunch you drive to Planet Baobab where camp is set up among the giant Baobab trees.

    Day 10 - 11Livingstone, Zambia/Victoria Falls

    Travel across the Zambia border to Livingstone. Victoria Falls is without doubt one of the greatest and most spectacular sights in Africa. Days are spent at leisure to browse the local markets and to experience the many optional activities on offer in the adrenaline capital of Africa, including white water rafting, bungee jumping, micro-lighting, airplane or helicopter rides over the falls, rhino walks, elephant back safaris, etc. (All activities are booked locally at own expense).

    Day 12Chobe River / Kasane

    Camp is set up on the banks of the Chobe River famous for its beautiful scenery, magnificent sunsets and abundance of wildlife and birdlife. Sunset is enjoyed on a relaxing game viewing boat cruise on the Chobe River.

    Meals: 2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner

    Day 13Khama Rhino Santuary

    Making your way South through Botswana you arrive at Khama Rhino Sanctuary mid afternoon. The following morning is free for optional excursions such as Rhino or Giraffe tracking, game drives, nature walks (own expense).

    Day 14Limpopo Area

    You will install camp for the last night near the mighty Limpopo River, which forms the border of Botswana and South Africa.

    Day 15Johannesburg, South Africa

    Travel via the “Jacaranda City” of Pretoria, the administrative capital of South Africa and home of the famous Union Buildings. Your tour ends in Johannesburg around 4:00 p.m. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
